Living with God

READ: Romans 11:33-36
The wisdom and knowledge of God is so deep, it is difficult for our sinful human reason to comprehend his ways. Sometime we try and look for the answers to the "why's" of God's will, but we can't always find them. What we do know for certainty, however, is that He is a loving God who has forgiven us through the perfect life, death and resurrection of Jesus. He gives us all that we need and promises to be with us forever.
Sometimes in our lives we don’t understand why God makes things happen, but later in our lives we understand why. For example, I know this man who was really good in sports. He won scholarships and everything, but then one day he tore some muscles in his leg and it put him out for the rest of the season. He then had to find something different to do with his life, so he considered going into the preaching ministry. He went to school to become a pastor and he still is a pastor to this day. During the rough time in his life he kept asking God, “Why me, God?” but came to realize that God wanted him to become a pastor, not a sports player.
God promises that even though we may be wondering why directs all of things in our life the way he does, he has a plan for us. We can trust his ways, for he "works for the good of those who love him.”
THINGS TO THINK ABOUT: What has God done in your life, that you didn’t know why He did it? Why do you think He did it? Why do you think God does that to people? What do you think God wants you to do or become in your life?
PRAYER SUGGESTIONS: Ask God to direct our lives in ways that glorify him and to protect us and watch over us. Thank God for being there for us, and helping us to do the right things in our lives.
