The Real "Big C"

READ: Psalm 121
My godchild was in the hospital once during Christmas. The doctors said he had cancer. They called it the “Big C.” My aunt was truly hurting in many ways. She was sad, mad, hating, loving, begging, questioning; so many emotions at one time. How could this happen to her only son, my only godchild? We cried, laughed and lived through many months of uncertainty. The doctors said it didn’t look good. Through it all my aunt prayed and looked to the Lord for help. She entrusted her son to the Lord, “because the Lord watches over you and will keep you from harm.”
By God's grace, my godchild won his battle with cancer, and I found the only true “Big C” is CHRIST. There is no doubt in my mind that when you need help, look to the Lord. As the Psalmist says, “My help comes from the Lord, the maker of heaven and earth,”
Have you ever wondered who could help you with a big problem? Have you ever felt no one could bear the burden of your secret? Have you ever just turned to the LORD and said, “HELP?” He is there for you both now and forever. Trust in Him to help you. He will neither slumber nor sleep.
THINGS TO THINK ABOUT: Is God your first help or your last hope? When was the last time you asked Him for help? Recall a time when you should have asked God for help, but instead went to a friend.
PRAYER SUGGESTIONS: Pray for help to take your problems to Him first. Ask God to help you trust Him to give you the help you need.
