Party This Weekend?
READ: Galatians 5:25-6:10
The other day I was sitting in the library and overheard some students talking about their past weekend. They were bragging about how drunk they had gotten, and they hadn’t gotten sick. Besides that, they had also been smoking marijuana. I was listening to these kids and thinking, “They are proud of this? What kind of friends do they have?”
Real friends would not lead you into temptation. Real Christian friends would lead you out of the path of temptation. Galatians 6:1 says, “Brothers, if someone is caught in sin, you who are spiritual should restore him gently.” We are to bring our friends into the light of Christ. It is our responsibility to carry each other’s burden.
As Christians we are to follow God's commands. Galatians 6:10 says, “Therefore, as we have opportunity, let us do good to all people, especially to those who belong to the family of believers.”
THINGS TO THINK ABOUT: Have you ever been to a party like that? Why were you there? Did you try to stop what was happening? How can you help friends who have these problems?
PRAYER SUGGESTIONS: Ask God to help you fight the temptation to party sinfully. Pray that you can do good in His eyes. Ask for God to guide you in the right direction.
