Do Not Fail

READ:  Isaiah 42:1-4

After reading these four verses in Isaiah.  I was reminded about a book that I read a month or two ago.  It was an autobiography about a Navy Seal.

In the early 1980’s, the U.S. Navy was looking for an Antiterrorist Task Force.  The Chief of Naval Operations came to a man named Richard and said, “Dick, I have chosen you, not because of all of your medals in Vietnam, but because I know you will not fail me.”  Richard served his two years in command of the legendary Seal Team Six, and he did not fail the Chief of Naval Operations.

Like the Chief of Naval Operations talking to Richard, the Lord talks about Jesus in these four verses.  He says, “Here is my servant whom I uphold, my chosen one in whom I delight…He will bring justice to the nation…He will not falter or be discouraged…In his law the islands will put their hope.”  With these words spoken in Isaiah, we know that Jesus will not fail.  It was proven by the fulfillment of all the Old Testament prophecies.

THINGS TO THINK ABOUT:  Has Jesus failed you?  Where have you failed when it comes to faith?  How is your failure corrected?

PRAYER SUGGESTIONS:  Thank God for sending Jesus and not letting Him fail.  Ask for help that we do not fail.
