Ready or Not, Here He Comes

READ: Matthew 25:1-13
Have you ever planned to go on a big trip; maybe driving down to Florida or California? You spent all your time packing and buying new clothes for the trip. When the day finally came, you got in your car, and drove down the road and realized you were out of gas. Well, this can and will happen if you are not prepared for life’s surprises.
Matthew 25:1-13 talks about how you have to watch out for sinful things and have faith and love. God tells us to be faithful and wise. We should be prepared for everything in life, big or small; just as we should always be prepared for Judgment Day. In verse 13 God says, “Therefore keep watch, because you do not know the day or the hour.” We should always be repentant and by faith, God will guide our way home. We are not to worry about small things that have no great importance. We need to put God and His Word first and always be ready for Him.
Some of us may also feel unprepared for some of life’s surprises. We have the promise that God guides us in everything we do in life - trust Him fully.
THINGS TO THINK ABOUT: Did you ever miss anything in your life because you were unprepared? During these times, what do you pray to God for? How strong do you believe your faith is?
PRAYER SUGGESTIONS: Ask God to strengthen your faith and help you be prepared for everything in life. Pray to be willing to see God on Judgment Day.
