The Lord is Good

READ: Psalm 118
A couple of years ago, my friend was going through a hard time. Her parents were fighting a lot and she became very depressed. She knew that her parents would probably get a divorce, but she couldn’t handle it. Watching TV she saw how parents would steal kids if they didn’t get custody. She didn’t want that to happen to her. She thought about running away and even suicide. I asked her why she would consider ending her life just because a marriage was failing.
It’s not her fault that the marriage did not work. I told her that she shouldn’t worry because God was always with her and He works everything out. She knew that I was right and reconsidered everything she was thinking about.
In Psalm 118:7 it says, “The Lord is with me; he is my helper…” and in verses 13-14 it says, “…the Lord is my strength and my song; he has become my salvation.” It’s good to know that God is always by our side when we need Him.
THINGS TO THINK ABOUT: During rough times, what do you need to pray for? What makes one think that God isn’t with them? What is so wrong that you think that there is no solution?
PRAYER SUGGESTIONS: Thank God that He is always with you. Ask Him for strength and guidance in time of need. Praise Him for forgiveness and His loving hand.
