Star Struck

READ: Matthew 21:1-9

Have you ever seen a famous person? When a famous person is spotted, a crowd will begin to form.  People will be cheering and asking for autographs.  They won’t be able to wait to go home and tell their family and friends who they saw in person.  You might call these crazed fans “star struck.”

I’m sure this wasn’t very different from the first Palm Sunday.  People heard the news that Jesus, the Son of God, was coming through their town.  Everyone wanted to get just a glimpse of Him.  Like crowds around a Hollywood star’s limo, there were crowds around Jesus’ donkey.  Like crowds cheered for their favorite stars, crowds cheered for Jesus.  They shouted, “Hosanna to the Son of David!  Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord.  Hosanna in the highest!”

What a great feeling it would have been to see Jesus!  One day we will see him in heaven.

THINGS TO THINK ABOUT:  What would you ask Jesus if you could talk to Him right now?  Would you be “star struck” or full of questions?  Do you think that meeting a famous person can be compared to meeting Jesus?

PRAYER SUGGESTIONS:  Thank God for the opportunity to go to Him in prayer.  Pray for others who do not know God.  Pray that you may keep the faith in God, and always know that He will be there for you.
