We Will Experience Glory

READ: Romans 8:18-23
A couple of years ago, my friend was in the hospital. She was lying in a hospital bed because she and her mother were in a really bad car accident. Her mother was killed and she broke her leg and was scraped up very badly. She was in a lot of pain.
One thing I remember very clearly about this situation as something that her dad had said to her. Her dad read her a quote from Romans, chapter 8, “Our present sufferings are not worth comparing with the glory that will be revealed within us.” It really stuck inside my head. God says that no matter how bad we think things are around here, and no matter what happens in our lives, God will be there for us and will ease our sufferings forever when we arrive in heaven.
My friend made it through her injuries with no further problems. She always tells me that whenever things start to go badly, she always remembers that we will someday live in heaven where there will be no more suffering. Instead we will live forever in glory.
THINGS TO THINK ABOUT: When will we be glorified? Why are our sufferings incomparable to what God will do for us? How do we know that we will one day be glorified?
PRAYER SUGGESTIONS: Ask God for help to remember that no matter what happens to us in this life, nothing will compare to what heaven will be like. Thank God for promising to always be there for us. Ask God to help us realize that even though things are bad or we are suffering, God is always with us.
