READPsalm 16

Think about the place where you go to get away from things that are bothering you.  Maybe you go for a run outside or a drive in your car.  I go to my room when I need to get away from things.  My room is a place to relax and have time to myself to think about anything I want to.  My room is my refuge.  I feel safe when I’m there.

My room is a refuge for me just like God is refuge for all of us.  In Psalm 16:1, David says, “Keep me safe, O God, for in you I take refuge.”  God is our refuge.  He will help us whenever we need Him.  God will protect us from harm because He loves and cares for us very deeply.  Our Father promises not to forsake us in a time of trouble.  God reminds us that He is merciful.  He, “Has made known to us the path of life; you will fill me with joy in your presence, with eternal pleasures at your right hand.” (Psalm 16:11)

God loves us unconditionally.  When we sin against Him, He always wants us to ask Him for help.  Remember to take refuge in HIM.  HE will help you and protect you.  He will give you strength.

THINGS TO THINK ABOUT:  Where is your place of refuge?  Why do you go there?  How often do you use God as your refuge?

PRAYER SUGGESTIONS:  We should pray so that we always remember that He is our refuge.  Ask God to comfort those who do not know the true place of refuge.  Also, thank God that He has given us His priceless gift, His Son.
