Arise! Shine!

READIsaiah 60:1-6

This past year I had a great chance to share what I believe.  I joined my church and stood for an hour witnessing against abortion.  An Asian man came up to my mother, while we were standing there, and asked her why we were making such a big deal about this.  She explained what we believed and how we were trying to change the laws of abortion.  He then said that in his country it was impossible to change the laws and that abortion was mandatory.  After he left, my mother told me how she wished she had said something more; but even with her short conversation, she was a witness and showed her faith.

In Isaiah 60:1 it says, “Arise, shine, for your light has come and the glory of the Lord rises upon you.”  God has come once already and wants us to stand out from the darkness of the world.  He has given us so much to be thankful for, how can we not be shining lights?  When we witness our faith, those who see and hear it will respond.  As you wait for Jesus’ second coming, show your faith and proclaim the truth that “the glory of the Lord rises upon you.”

THINGS TO THINK ABOUT:  How would you express your faith when asked about it?  What can you do to show your faith?  How does witnessing affect your own faith?

PRAYER SUGGESTIONS:  Pray for those who don’t have a chance to hear the Word of God.  Pray that you may be a more eager witness for Christ.  Thank God for all the souls that have been reached by witnesses.
