The Holy Spirit
READ: Romans 8:26-27
Romans 8:26-27 tells us that the Holy Spirit knows everything we think or do. He watches over us and keeps us safe. When we pray, he already knows what we are going to pray. I think this is a very good text, because it is saying that no matter what we do, the Holy Spirit will be there.
Imagine that a family member finds out they need surgery. They probably will be very nervous or scared that something will go wrong, and so will all of his family. That person and all of his family members need to pray, because God promises to hear their prayers. And they can be assured that even if they don't know what to pray, the Holy Spirit speaks to God for them. What a wonderful comfort from our loving God!
THINGS TO THINK ABOUT: What does the Holy Spirit mean to you? Even though the Holy Spirit knows what you are going to pray, why should you pray?
