Jesus' Ascension

READ: Acts 1:1-14
In Acts 1:1-14, Luke talks about Jesus being taken up into heaven. This reminded me about when my grandpa died and what comforted me about his death.
It was about 7:00 PM on a Wednesday evening, and I was in my room. I walked out into the living room and my parents were on the couch with a sad look on their faces. I asked, “What’s wrong?” and they told me that my grandpa had died. At first I was sad, but then after I thought of where he went, I was happy for him. I know that I will see him there at a later time.
We went to the funeral and there was a lot of family there. My grandma and aunts weren’t crying because they know where he went. My cousin came up to me and asked me why I wasn’t sad and I told him why I wasn’t. I told him that grandpa was up in heaven with God and we’ll see him when we die as long as we believe that Jesus died on the cross for our sins.
Just like when my grandpa went to heaven, believers all go to heaven to meet their Savior from sins face-to-face. Keep studying God’s Word, so that you may stand firm in faith and one day meet Jesus.
THINGS TO THINK ABOUT: Why should we believe that we are going to heaven? Why did God send Jesus to us? When is God coming again to judge everyone on earth?
PRAYER SUGGESTIONS: Ask God for power to continue the study of His word. Pray for others who don’t believe in Him. Pray for God to take us to heaven on the last day.
