Share Your Light

READ: Isaiah 60:1-6
Do you know someone who always seems to be in a good mood? If so, do you enjoy this person’s company? Most people would probably answer “Yes” to both of these questions.
A person with a cheery attitude and constant grin is well-liked, because of the effect they have on others. Like the sun, that person’s rays of optimism will shine on others spreading light and joy.
In Isaiah 60:1, God tells the people of Zion to let their lights shine. “Arise, SHINE, for your light has come, and the glory of the Lord rises upon you.” This command was not just intended for Zion, but for all Christians. God wants us to share His good news, our light, by letting our rays of faith shine on others. Perhaps, by telling the dark world, unbelievers, about our Savior, the Holy Spirit will also brighten their darkness.
Like a person in a good mood, we too, as believers should be smiling. We should let our lights shine for all people to see. The Lord is our precious light, and He is streaming from us all.
THINGS TO THINK ABOUT: In the past, how have you let your light shine? How can you, in the future, let your light shine brighter? How can unbelievers tell that God’s light is shining from you?
PRAYER SUGGESTIONS: Thank God for shining His light on your darkness. Ask God to help you let your light shine brighter. Pray for those who have not yet seen the light.
