The Bus

READ: 1 Peter 4:19
Katie was riding the bus, coming home from school. Deciding not to just sit there, she took out her Bible and started to read it. While she was reading, some teenagers got on and sat a couple of rows behind her. Then one of the teens spotted Katie reading her Bible. They started to laugh and make fun of her. The whole time they were doing this, Katie didn’t say a word. When it was time for Katie to get off, she walked past the teens and said, “Have a nice day.”
Most of us wouldn’t have been so nice, but we must remember that we are doing this for Christ. God may send troubles our way, but we must remember that it is God’s will, and remain caring for others. It says in I Peter 4:19, “So then those who suffer according to God’s will should commit themselves to their faithful Creator and continue to do good.” We know God will never leave us and will help us to do good.
Being good is always better than being bad, even when we are being persecuted for our faith.
THINGS TO THINK ABOUT: Have you ever been hassled about your faith? If we are in the future, what are some things we might say?
PRAYER SUGGESTIONS: Ask God to help you find the words and do the right thing next time you are persecuted.
