Promises

READ: Jeremiah 33:14-16
How often have you heard the words, “I promise?” I know I have heard them quite often. However, do you always believe these words? You may have trouble believing your friends or others when they say those words, but we can rest assured that when God says them, He means it.
We can never be sure when things will happen, but when God says they will, they do. He says, “The days are coming when I will fulfill the gracious promise I made.” The day did finally come and our Savior Jesus was born. God kept this promise, he kept his promise to live a perfect life, to die in our place, and rise again so that we can have life eternal with him through faith. He promises to help us with all we need in our daily life. And we wait patiently and eagerly for him to fulfill his promise to come again.
In thanks for God’s gracious keeping of His promises, we should keep a strong trust in Him and share the rewards we receive as a result of God’s goodness. For we know that He will come through for us.
THINGS TO THINK ABOUT: How often has God kept His promises for you? What promises have you made and kept to God? How strong is your trust in God’s promises?
PRAYER SUGGESTIONS: Thank God for keeping His promise of sending His Son for us. Ask God to keep your trust in His promises strong and true. Pray that all people have the same trust as you do.
