Winning With Jesus
READ: Psalm 46
It was the last day of the state basketball championships. The Beavers had won all of their games and made it to the finals. Their opponents were the Warriors, a tough team that was so far undefeated that season. The Beavers were nervous and didn’t think it was possible for them to beat the Warriors. Their coach saw how discouraged they were and reminded them to use the skills he had taught them and that he was behind them all the way. With his direction and encouragement, the Beavers defeated their opponents.
Christians face daily challenges set before us by the world and the devil. However, we too have someone standing behind us, our friend and ally Jesus Christ. Psalm 46:7 says, “The Lord Almighty is with us, the God of Jacob is our fortress.” The fact that Jesus is present with us always is a great comfort in our lives. When life seems unbearable, we can turn to Him, our refuge and fortress. He and His Word live within us and help us face the challenges of each day.
So, the next time the challenges of life have you down, remember that you are not alone. Jesus, your coach, stands behind you to help you face your challenge.
