No Matter What

Psalm 23:4 - Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for You are with me, thy rod and thy staff, they comfort me.
Most of you are a fan of some team in a major league sport. Everyone who has a favorite team wants that team to win the playoffs and the championship too, right? But when a team crashes and burns, a lot of people abandon their "favorite" team and start cheering for a team with a better record. They doubt their original team. It's called being a fair-weather fan. Like being a fair-weather fan in sports, Christians often fall into the trap of only recognizing God's presence in their lives when they're at church or things are going well in their life.
The LORD has promised that he will always be with us, and He meant always. He didn’t mean only when things are going well and you are being a good Christian. He meant every single second, no matter what’s going on in our lives. As it is written in John 4:9-10: “This is how God showed his love among us: He sent his one and only Son into the world that we might live through him. This is love: not that we loved God, but that he loved us and sent his Son as an atoning sacrifice for our sins.” God sent his innocent Son to save us from our eternal darkness. We do nothing to deserve it, but God gives us eternal life and forgiveness.
God is all around us. He watches over us when we are down in the dumps and keeps an eye on us when we are jumping for joy. He never looks away from us. He is always there, and He will never turn his back on us.
THINGS TO THINK ABOUT: What do you usually do when you are afraid? Do you go to God for help? How can you help others hear this message?
PRAYER SUGGESTIONS: Pray for someone who is in trouble so they may realize God is always there for them. Pray to God that He may strengthen your faith so you may always trust his promises. Pray a prayer of thanks to the LORD for his wonderful promises he has made for us.
