There Is No Fear
READ: 1 John 4:18
Fear -- it is amazing how much fear there is in this world. Fear can range from the terror of a life-threatening situation to just worrying over the little things in life.
As Christians, we know that fear does not have to be a part of our lives. We know this because of the grace and mercy of our loving God. Through His love, fear is driven away. However, there are times when our Old Adam gets the better of us and we forget the message of God's love.
God invites us to take our fears to him; he says, "Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest" (Matthew 11:28).
One of the most common fears we face is "fear of death." God's love reminds us that death has been conquered. Jesus conquered death through His resurrection from the dead. The message of God's love drives out the fear of death.
Fear has been conquered. Jesus conquered it. Knowing that, what is there to fear?
