Salvation Is Found In No One Else

Ruth 1:15 - "Look," said Naomi, "your sister-in-law is going back to her people and her gods. Go back with her."

The verses preceding this one do not give us any indication about the faith of Orpah, Naomi's daughter-in-law, as she left Naomi and Ruth. In this verse, we begin to get a better idea of what kind of faith she had.

Sometimes the life of a believer is the only kind of Gospel another person comes into contact with. When Orpah left Naomi and Ruth, Naomi knew that this Moabite girl was leaving behind all contact with the true God. Faith in anything other than the Triune God - Father, Son and Holy Spirit - is worthless. As the Apostle Peter said shortly after Jesus ascended into Heaven, "Salvation is found in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given to men by which we must be saved" (Acts 4:12).

When our loved ones move away, are they going to be in contact with God's Word? There seem to be Christian churches almost everywhere, but how do you know if the people believe in Jesus?

Ask!

A spiritual leader who attempts to dodge the question or begins talking about different levels of understanding the Bible is simply not preaching God's Word. As the Apostle John said, "Anyone who runs ahead and does not continue in the teaching of Christ does not have God" (2 John 9). Salvation is found in no one else.

THINGS TO THINK ABOUT: How is asking someone what they believe a high form of love?

PRAYER SUGGESTIONS: Ask God to give you the courage to engage people in conversations about faith and Jesus.
