In That Day

Obadiah 8-9: “In that day,” declares the LORD, “will I not destroy the wise men of Edom, men of understanding in the mountains of Esau? Your warriors, O Teman, will be terrified, and everyone in Esau’s mountains will be cut down in the slaughter.
Talk about a scary picture. When God talks about what’s in store for an unbeliever, what does it make you want to do? Does it make you want to thank God that you know about Jesus?
What about your friends, or maybe your family. Do you know anybody who doesn’t know who Jesus is? What does a passage like this say about them?
How does God get the Gospel about Jesus to people like your friend, or your family member? Did you know that he uses you as a messenger? People have a horrible problem: They’re guilty of sin before God. But God has given us the solution -- Jesus. And you can share Jesus with everyone, so they’ll be ready for “that day.”
Give thanks to him...
who made the great lights --
His love endures forever.
the sun to govern the day,
His love endures forever.
the moon and stars to govern the night
His love endures forever.
(Psalm 136:7-9)
THINGS TO THINK ABOUT: Does sharing Jesus with someone always have to be blatantly bringing him up in conversation?
PRAYER SUGGESTIONS: Ask God to give you the insight to recognize opportunities to share Jesus, the courage to do it, and the gentleness and respect to be loving. Ask God to forgive you for the times you have failed to share Jesus or didn't recognize the opportunity to do so.
