God's Way

READ: Psalm 1
Teenagers face many important decisions that have major impact on their lives. They decide where to go to college, where to work, what friends to make, and what things to do. Sometimes the friends teens want to make may not always be that great. They may ask us to do things that would compromise our values and draw us away from what we’ve been taught is right. When we're facing these decisions, we may not know who to turn to for advice...
Psalm 1 gives us not only the needed advice, but the reasons why following God is best. God says, “Blessed is the man who does not walk in the counsel of the wicked…” By following God’s way, we show our love for Him and do not let earthly pursuits stand in the way of our faith. No matter what earthly disadvantages we receive from the following God, the heavenly advantages are countless.
Whenever you have to make a decision, and don’t know how to decide, Psalm 1 offers this encouragement: say “yes” to God's way.
THINGS TO THINK ABOUT: When you have a decision to make, whom do you turn to for help? Who should you turn to?
PRAYER SUGGESTIONS: Ask the Lord to strengthen you in all decisions you make. Thank God for giving us a steady source of guidance.
