As White As Snow

READ: Lamentations 3:22-26
When the first snow flakes of winter appear, excitement fills the air. The grass, trees, bushes, roads and sidewalks slowly turn a bright white. After a few hours of steady snowfall, the world looks almost new. The brown color of the grass and fallen leaves and dusty sidewalks is transformed. Even the dirty cars receive a new coat of white. A new season has arrived.
What would happen if God didn’t choose to give us new seasons? What if we had the same kind of weather all year? How would this affect our feelings, moods, or health?
In His wisdom, God made a world that could change daily—a world of life and newness. No two plants, animals, stars, birds or people are completely alike. Even more, every one and every thing is changing daily.
The good news is that God never changes. He continues to forgive because of Jesus and His sacrifices on the cross. He continues to offer us new life through faith in Christ. God’s mercy is always fresh, and his love always great.
People who accept this free gift have much to look forward to. They know that the newness of God’s love and forgiveness covers their old sinful lives.
THINGS TO THINK ABOUT: Why can you be even more sure that God lives you? Why does the Lord’s unfailing mercy give you Hope?
PRAYER SUGGESTIONS: Thank the Lord for each new day and for sending His Son. Ask Him that the Holy Spirit would change us into the person He wants us to be.
