Where Does My Help Come From?

READ: Psalm 121
Little Bobby ran out the back door into the back yard. Behind the yard was a busy highway. His mother, knowing the danger that existed out there, quickly dropped what she was doing and went to the door to see that Bobby was all right. Seeing he was all right, she let him play, but kept a very close eye on him.
We read in Psalm 121:7-8, “The Lord will keep you from all harm — he will watch over your life; the Lord will watch over your coming and going both now and forevermore.” Just as Bobby’s mother watched over him, the Lord is watching over us. Yet, there is a huge difference between the two. No matter how hard Bobby’s mother tries to keep him safe, she is only human and will have difficulties doing it. She won't be able to keep her eye on him all the time. She may not be able to help him all the time. But Christians can always be sure that we have someone looking over us. That person, of course, is our all-powerful God, and being all-powerful, He will be there for us, helping us EVERY time.
Remember, the next time you feel threatened, unsure, or sense temptation lurking, look to God. He created the heavens and earth. He promises to watch over you, and will not let your foot slip.
THINGS TO THINK ABOUT: How do you know God is watching over you? How do you thank God for His helping hand? How will you help others to see God’s helping hand?
PRAYER SUGGESTIONS: Pray in thanksgiving for God’s helping hand. Pray that you will continually trust Him. Pray that others will also see His hand in their lives.
