Best Friends for Never
By Katrina
Two little first graders, the only girls in that class
We formed a bond, that we were sure would last
I’d comfort you, and you’d fight bullies for me
We made it through those early years of elementary
But then we went off to high school
And you wanted to be cool
And I really didn’t care if I was or wasn't
Our bond started to crack
We were seeming to lack
That glue we’d had before
Soon we started fighting
There was treachery and backbiting
That bond was gone
It broke from all the pain it had undergone
And now, instead of being best friends forever,
It seem that we are
Best friends, for never.
