God is there to Guide
By Kayla

The sun shines brightly in the sky as two youthful sisters play;
Sprinting with all their might, the girls try to run away.
Dashing in circles around the tree, as if they do not know;
The fresh-cut yard is not that big, so there is a limited space to go.
And as they race across the yard, they do not realize;
Their lives are moving quickly, but God is there to guide.
High School dances finally come, and they help each other prepare;
The girls make sure they look their best and have the perfect hair.
The two best friends are ready to dance the night away;
The girls know how to enjoy themselves, so much they want to stay.
And as the sisters enjoy the night, they do not realize;
Their high school years go by so fast, but God is there to guide.
Sudden sickness strikes the older one, changing many lives;
Tears run down the young one’s face as her hospital visit finally arrives.
She spends long days at the hospital playing solitaire;
Trying to make her feel more at home, she does her sister’s hair.
As the younger sister sits in the hospital room, she begins to realize;
Her life is changing drastically, but God is there to guide.
The young sister experiences sadness, for she does not know what to do;
She cannot cure her sister, but she can say “I love you”.
Frustration, anger, and sadness scamper though her mind;
She wishes this would disappear and everyone would leave this behind.
As the younger sister struggles, she begins to realize;
She needs to turn to God who is sitting by her side.
As individuals face challenges, they should always know;
That God is standing right beside always in control.
He has the power to raise the dead and the power to cure;
He never gives an individual more than she can bear.
God loves his children so much that he sent his Son who died;
And as challenges come our way, God is always there to guide.
