Lies

She looks at herself,
Her face in the mirror
She cringes at the thought
Of this horrible person being her.
She wishes she could change it,
Change everything about her
Become a brand new person
She fakes herself over.
Putting on makeup to hide herself
To hide herself from everyone
Scared, scared of everyone’s opinions
She gets told she’s gorgeous, she’s pretty, she’s beautiful
She thinks they are all lying to her
Lying to be nice.
She gives up believing everyone
She just can’t see it, she can’t see the beauty
The beauty outside the beauty inside
To her, beauty does not exist within herself.
She starts to give up, and lose all hope
The tiny hope she once had.
She realizes that it can’t change; she’ll just have to live with it
So she looks up to the one who created, moulded, and made her
- Jesus Christ -
And in his eyes she’s beautiful.
