Lost and Found
By Sarah

When I was lost
Far, far away,
I looked and feared
I'd never see
The light of day.
I called aloud,
I listened hard.
But I heard nothing, nothing,
But the beating of
My frightened heart.
And when I fell
Dispairing down,
With my head
Bowed to the ground,
I heard a voice
From far away,
"I'm here, look up,
I'll help you how I may."
I lifted up
My saddened face.
And there I saw
A peaceful grace.
"Do not despair,
For I am here,
And now, with me
You need not fear."
He picked me up
And dried my tears
And held me close
And dashed my fears
And raised me up
With wondrous light,
"I'll leave you not
Through all the night."
When I awoke
I was alone.
I cried out loud,
"Where have you gone?"
An answering call
Was whispered then,
"I'm with you still,
Watching from heav'n."
And then a peace
Came flowing down
And draped about
Me like a gown
I sighed, at last
My fears all flown.
I knew he'd ne'er
Leave me alone.
