A Thousand Colors, A Single Prayer
By Rachel
A thousand colors,
a million songs—
O Lord, how can it be?
A sea of hearts
and hands dispersed,
Yet one light sets them free.
A man who was
A curse for us
Attained a world unknown;
My God, who is
And is to come,
What mercy You have shown!
For countless days
And hopeless nights
We languished here alone,
And now the Son
Has mesmerized
The eyes who do behold.
A million prayers
And all the dreams
The world could contain
Could not have wrought
This boundless sky
Nor anything obtained.
Yet You, my God,
With wings unfurled
Still shelter us below
Your boundless strength
As we breathe in
All life You still bestow.
