About the Rally

The Program

Plenary sessions:

  • Follow the Path; Lead the Way IN SPEECH - set an example through your communication with others (presentation with small group discussion).
  • Follow the Path; Lead the Way IN LIFE - From Walk in My World, "God Works Through Tragedy", the story of a Deltona, FL, family whose daughter was tragically murdered, and how a WELS pastor helped the family cope and come to know Jesus better.  (Video followed by small group discussion)
  • Follow the Path; Lead the Way IN LOVE - set an example through your relationships with others (presentation with small group discussion).
  • Follow the Path; Lead the Way IN FAITH - From Walk in My World, "Living for Jesus and Touching Others", the story of Angie Lowe and the people touched by the Holy Spirit through her.  (Video followed by small group discussion)

Opening Worship: Follow the Path

  • Message based on Psalm 16:11 - "You have made known to me the path of life; you will fill me with joy in your presence, with eternal pleasures at your right hand."

Closing Worship: Lead the Way

  • Message based on Colossians 4:5-6 - "Be wise in the way you act toward outsiders; make the most of every opportunity.  Let your conversation be always full of grace, seasoned with salt, so that you may know how to answer everyone."

Activities

Rally Commercial Contest...enter your commercial promoting the rally theme and/or Bible passage by April 30, 2009 for your chance to win a cash prize for your congregation's youth ministry!

"WELS Got Talent" ...enter yourself or your group into the "WELS Got Talent" competition for the 2009 rally.  Finalists will advance to the rally itself to compete for cash prizes for yourself/group and for your congregation's youth ministry!

Adventureland USA - included with your registration, admission to Iowa's famous Adventureland USA amusement park.  Check out the official Web site and start planning what attractions you're going to see while there!
