2009 Youth Rally "WELS Got Talent" Competition
Nicole and CJ invite teens coming to the rally - individuals or groups - to share their God-given talent with others. Do you sing, dance, juggle, play an instrument, do dramatic readings, etc? If so enter your act in the 2009 WELS International Youth Rally "WELS Got Talent" show. To qualify for performing at the rally, acts must submit the required wirtten application form and include a video in .wma, .mov, DVD or mini-DV format showing EXACTLY what you will do. Entries are due by April 30, 2009. Approved videos will be posted on the rally Web site with online voting (May 1 - June 15, 2009) determining the acts that will make it to Hollywood...er...Ames. The ultimate "WELS Got Talent" winner will be selected and crowned at the rally.
To qualify for Web posting and potential performance at the rally...
- Acts should seek to glorify God and not contain, exhibit, or present objectionable content.
- Acts should be no more than six minutes in length.
- Acts should demonstrate legitimate talent, creativity and skill and not represent the frivolous or ridiculous (like blowing milk bubbles through your nose or burping the Star Spangled Banner).
- ONLY ONE ENTRY PER PERSON OR GROUP (Congregation's may be represented by more than one entry; if a person enters as an individual, the cannot also be part of a group entry or vice versa).
Cash prizes will be awarded to the winning individuals or groups and to the winner's congregational youth ministry in the following manner:
- 1st place - $500 ($250 to individual/group and $250 to the youth ministry)
- 2nd place - $350 ($175 to individual/group and $175 to the youth ministry)
- 3rd place - $200 ($100 to individual/group and $100 to the youth ministry)
- Other acts selected to perform at the rally but that do not place will receive $50 each ($25 to the individual/group and $25 to the youth ministry)
